I had a background piece in my stash which was made with Tim Holtz alcohol inks – you could colour up your background with any media you choose.
I then had a bit of inky fun with Leonie’s large ‘mandala’ – I basically put it on my glass mat and went nuts spraying it with Distress Oxide sprays in shades of Blue, Yellow and Orange to match the background piece. I tried inking it directly with ink and foam tools, but spraying was much more effective (and messy!).
Once both pieces were dry, I used a spray adhesive within a cardboard box on the back of the mandala piece and glued it onto the background. Once trimmed down, I was very happy with the colourful effect.
Rupert is one of Tim Holtz’s Colorize die sets – he is quite large, and this card ended up being a 5×7 size. There are many other Colorize dies, including Santa, little soldiers, a lion, a bear, a vampire even! They take a little patience to put together, but it is fun trying out different colour ways, using up textured papers and other inky panels in your stash.
I can’t help myself with a bit of glittery shine, and I used silver glitter paper on his tum, and his tail.
I used a sentiment from Pinkfresh, and hot foiled it with silver onto black cardstock. This is a great stamp set as it stamps, foils and cuts all sentiments at once.
