  • Sentiment of your choice

I cut my various poppy pieces from Bazzill Marshmallow cardstock. The die cuts all the layers in just one pass. I used various colours of Nuvo shimmer powder – you could use any medium you like for this.

I put some powder on my craft mat, or in a wee paint tray and add water to the side – this way I can get different tones of the colour, e.g., dark to light.

Once dry, glue the layers together.

I stencilled a cloud background, using a blending brush and Tumbled Glass oxide ink. You can use a regular sized cloud stencil for slimline lengths, simply move the stencil over and match the curve of the last cloud.

Slimline cards don’t have a set regular size, but I cut my card base from a heavy weight piece of cardstock which is 8.5″ wide. I wanted my card to be about 3.5″ high, so I cut my piece at 7″ and folded it in half, using a Teflon bone folder to score the fold line for a crisp edge.

Trim your card front to suite, and arrange the poppies as desired, You can see I did a kind of rainbow with the reds, pink, orange and yellow tones.

Stamp a sentiment – I used a set from Echo Park here.
